On the 3rd of June we welcomed this absolutely stunning colt foal! What a delight, our very first homozygous homebred!!

This Zangersheide foal is an eye catcher, there is nothing ordinary about him. We are convinced he will make a very interesting stallion.

Among LP show jumpers, his breeding can hardly get better considering the fact that he is homozygous for this gene (it means that he will pass the LP gene to 100% of his progeny). Cristo’s coat color is called “near-fewspot” which will most likely evolute to an all fewspot phenotype over the years.

His sire is a German Zfdp/ Knabstrupper fewspot stallion called Carlsson vom Dach, himself also a fewspot. This stallion is sired by Campino, who competed in SJ in Germany, and the mother is by the important HOLST stallion Ladalco. His production is still very young but there is something common among all: very good conformation, very good balance and great character!

The dam is our fabulous Zita, who not only produces the best jumping quality in spotted horses, but also counts already with 2 sons approved as stallions: Dumoulin (jumping the 5yo in NL this year) and Secret Spot (jumping the 4yo in UK this year), interestingly, both stallions are sired by dressage sires. Zita is also the only active broodmare of this color that has 2 siblings jumping at GP internationally: Hector and Viter! She comes from the very prestigious Ornita line: ISJ 1.60 Wang Chung, ISJ 1.60 Loverboy, and others!

 

Cristo has a TRULY RARE coat color allied to a spectacular dam-line. We can only look at him as UNIQUE!

 

Color genetics: E?/ AA/ LPLP/ PATN1/patn1 - homozygous agouti and LP, heterozygous PATN1 (extension status unknown), can't produce black based foals, has a 100% chance to pass the LP gene to the offspring and 50% chance to pass the PATN1 (his dam carries an untestable PATN, so it is possible that he also carries that PATN)
